Enhancing Collaboration in Public Administration Education between Indonesia and South Korea: Learning from Global MPA E-School Sung Kyun Kwan University and Universitas Padjadjaran

Abstract


This paper have aim to describing 1) Video conference technology for some course in public administration Indonesia and South Korea, 2) Teaching system in Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) Indonesia and Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKKU), South Korea, 3) Curriculum Synchronize in Unpad and SKKU, 4) Sustainability of education program, 5) Intake student and lecturer preparation. SKKU and Unpad made education collaboration using long distance video conference for introducing education in public administration both country. This paper is to described how we can understanding another country education in public administration. SKKU offering this collaboration to several university in Indonesia, Unpad who offered by SKKU has determined to enhanced international education for they student, specially for master and last semester undergraduate student. This Program has been developed for eight years from late 2010 until 2019. This program was introducing first time in Seoul 2011 to Unpad. As a partner in collaboration Unpad this opportunity as a progressive idea to developed education especially in public administration. The curriculum compiled between Unpad and SKKU is a curriculum that is expected to support each other. E-Policy is one of the curriculum that has ever become an interest. In this article the methods used to collect data and analyze the data consist of interviews with lecturers, students and alumni. South Korea with its uniquely educational emphasis on education from the west (North-America), while Indonesia with its uniqueness that displays a curriculum rich in cultural diversity. In the preliminary findings it was found that during eight years of cooperation between the  two universities, students and lecturers can understand each other patterns and education system in their respective countries. This pattern is done so that the process of discussion in the classroom is more real and live. This pattern is built so that students can learn from each other the education pattern in their respective countries. In addition to students studying from their counterparts in other countries, lecturers can also learn from each other how to convey the sciences of public administration.
